2013 Collaboration with Johanna Berg. By deconstructing the ritual and emotional experiences of a dinner, we created a scene in which refined trivialities became symbols of sentimental value. Objects commonly considered waste were reinterpreted into new pieces and put in another context to examine the possibility of reconstructing emotional associations. As a starting point, we staged and videotaped a dinner for a party of six. The documentation later served as an aesthetic archive from which the new objects were formed. The resulting props include a table with marbled inlays imitating the stains from the dirty tablecloth; a lamp consisting of inverted shapes from the emptied dishes; and a set of six napkins, on which photographs of the discarded paper tissues were printed. The pieces were exhibited at Ateljé Under Uppbyggnad for as long as the previous dinner lasted, more precisely three hours and thirty-three minutes. During the whole exhibition, the film was projected on one of the walls, marking the starting point and the closing of the exhibition.
